Sneaking up + backstab : r/darksouls3. Hey there, Is it possible to backstab standing enemies who have their backs turned to you? I can manage it on enemies sitting on the ground but haven't been able to pull of one otherwise, they always notice me before I get a chance to initiate the 'lock' of the backstab.
A unupgraded dagger with any starting class you can do like 300-400 damage with a dagger backstab. Also in dark souls 2 there's a lootable dagger in the tutorial area, lol. On top of that there's a lootable cracked red eye orb in the tutorial area. It's like they want people to be backstab fishers. Edit: confirmed, it does dagger backstab crit
Cause when I search I find videos on how to parry and riposte BS fishers rather than any technique to backstab the fishers, but that seems kinda hard for a beginner. Cvdf3 11 years ago #2 Youtube "EWGF"
If you're new-ish to pvp, it might be an idea to make an invasion build, sl50 or something, and invade Anor Londo instead of playing in Oolacile. The odds are often stacked against you as an invader, but you won't be backstabbed as much. Or have to deal with the unintelligible glitchy mess that high-skilled meta level dark souls pvp is.
It's usually extremely easy to tell if someone is going for a backstab, and yes, people can turn you with their initial start up punch sometimes to land a backstab. It's not always lag. Any backstab I've ever landed or got hit by was deserved.
