That pretty much defeats the purpose of even having the splitscreen mode in this game =/. No. It works in campaign, zombies and multiplayer (even with online). The main bummer that it's 2 player only. Which means you can pay the same game on consoles and get better game with 4 player split screen for the same price.
In Black Ops 3, you can play both the Campaign and Zombies mode cooperatively. Both modes support up to two players locally with a horizontal or vertical split-screen, and up to four players online.
So we aren't talking about black ops 2 here. If your talking about local/bots then you have to wait until your in the game. Then when your in select a class and press start or the 3 lines button. Then select the change teams button and select the other team. I don't know any other way to do it. If your talking about online. No you can't.
HOW TO DO IT: Go to settings, system, and make sure 'enable HDCP' is not checked (no tick next to it). 2.install youtube (if youtube is already installed, uninstall it then install it again). 3 play zombies split screen, then when you want to pause, press the PS button, go to notifications, select YouTube, and then it will say the application
