1. Black 8 pin plug, takes +12v and neg, it takes CAN_H and CAN_L (yellow and black) This will make the seats work in INPA. NOTE there is NO differance between the passanger seat and front driver seat modules, the passanger seat only has one additional negative that the drivers does not have. 2.
For the E92's the seat modules are the same between the driver and passenger seat (not true for E90 or E91) 1) Disconnect Battery. 2) Unbolt seats so you can access the module beneath. 3) Swap modules around between passenger and driver. If problem moves with module, then get a new one. If problem stays then the issue is with the heating

have: '09 E90 premium, non-sport, non-heated seats buying: sport seats off an '09 with premium and heat. 1. expecting/hoping everything on the seats will work except obviously the heat 2. since the new seats will have all heat-related components what would be required to retrofit the switches and related wiring to get the heat working? Unplug the wiring harness if you haven't already and unhook it from the seat bracket, so it is easier to work with. 3. cut open the seat's wiring harness, near the plug. You are looking for a red/blue wire (12v power) and a brown wire (ground). they are thicker than most of the other wires going to the seats. 4.
